Savute Lioness

These photos were taken by Fred von Winckelmann at Savute Marsh, Botswana.

 

Most older lionesses in the Savute Marsh look pretty buff and fierce. A big broad muscled chest is their trademark due to years of elephant predating which was their only life-source during the long drought. This one just came back from a succesful kill. Would you risk a fight with her?

Photos look a bit grainy because of using High ISO values and bad weather conditions.
